The lungs breathe and exhale both oxygen and carbon dioxide. If the levels between these are not balanced and correct the lungs can end up causing respiratory failure. There are a number of illnesses that would be included in a critical illness plan but not a Life Insurance plan that can lead to this happening such as asthma pneumonia and cystic fibrosis. If these illnesses are not treated, the individual that suffers from them could end up with a fatal ending.
